Well-soled waterproof walking boots, comfortable outdoor clothes with extra warm layers in a backback with sufficient water, food and/or snacks.

Description

Lovely walk of moderate difficulty with quite a steep grassy track leading from the car park. The trail flattens and opens up thereafter, before the ascent to the West Summit. From here it’s likely that the A and B Groups will separate, as the A Group makes its way to the East Summit before making its way back to the car park.

The Paps of Anu (commonly called The Paps) are a pair of breast-shaped mountains near Killarney in County Kerry, Ireland. Located between Glenflesk and the County Bounds and overlooking the Clydagh Valley. The eastern summit, The Paps East, is 694 metres high and the western top, The Paps West is 690 metres high.

There is a stream running between the mountains. One half flows north into a small lake called Lough Nageeha and the other half flows south into the Clydagh River.

Meeting point for these walks (unless otherwise noted) is outside Dan Murphy’s Bar in Sneem at 10AM. Please ensure that you are registered on the Sneem Walking Club’s Whatsapp Group for updates. Please note that dogs are not allowed on our walks, as we walk on privately owned land with the kind permission of the owners / farmers.
