Sneem Walking Club is delighted to announce that it has been awarded a €500 grant offer from Kerry County Council’s Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2024.
This funding has allowed the club to purchase essential first aid equipment for the club, enhancing safety on all walks.
The grant has enabled the club to equip its walk leaders with first aid kits, emergency bivvy bags and storm shelters, head torches, and multi-function whistles. While we hope to have little cause to use this equipment, having it on hand provides peace of mind for both members and leaders alike.
“We are grateful to Kerry County Council for this much needed grant,” said Fergal Harrington, Club Training & Safety Officer. “This funding will significantly improve the safety of our members on walks and ensure that our members can enjoy their outdoor activities with confidence.”
The club would like to thank the Community, Arts and Culture Department of Kerry County Council for its support and to Ravit Yanay and Frank McGonigle for their help in applying for and completing the paperwork to receive the grant funding.
