As part of the Sneem Saint Patrick’s Festival Weekend, Sneem Walking Club organised walks on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19th March 2023 for members and visitors. We are delighted that so many people took part on both days.
As part of the 2023 Sneem Saint Patrick’s Festival, Sneem Walking Club is delighted to be organising two special days of walking. These walks are an official part of the festival activities and visitors are welcome to attend. So don’t forget to bring you boots!
Sneem Walking Club (SWC) hosted a Climb With Charlie Event on Saturday 2nd April 2022 to support former TV presenter and journalist Charlie Bird in
Experience the breathtaking beauty of the Kerry Way on this circular walk. Enjoy panoramic views of Derrynane Bay, explore historical sites like Cáit na Pluaise’s cave and the copper mines, and challenge yourself with a challenging off-trail ascent. This adventure offers a perfect blend of stunning scenery and historical intrigue.
This well marked trail on the outskirts of Cahirsiveen provides great views throughout. It takes you to the summit of Castlequin where you will have sweeping views of the surrounding countryside.
From Owreagh river bridge out and back to Slievenashaska Lough partly on Lomanagh Loop, Sneem
Moderate to strenuous loop walk initially along the Kerry Way and leading to an ascent of Eagles Hill.
This is an easy casual walk which will take us from Blackwater Bridge on the Kerry Way out to Dromore Castle and we will return back to Blackwater Bridge following mostly the way we went out.
Rewarding moderate and strenuous walks to some of the highest points in Sneem. The views down to the Pocket below and across to Mullaghanattin don’t disappoint.
Follow the Kerry Way from Beale Woods Sneem out to the unique Staigue Fort and Return
again on the Kerry Way – waymarked trails.
Loop walk over very rough terrain on mountains circling Glenbeg Loch.
Follow the Kerry Way from Blackwater Bridge into Sneem on waymarked trails.
On this 7.5KM moderately difficult coastal walking loop we will take in fantastic views across the Wild Atlantic to the Skelligs and Puffin Island whilst tackling some moderately challenging ascents and descents on uneven tracks on this waymarked walk.
Out and back walk to the summit of Mangerton Mountain near Killarney. Mangerton is 843m high.
On this 12 km walk we will follow the Kerry Way to take in some stunning views as we walk the waymarked Kerry Way section from Waterville to Caherdaniel.
