This circular A-Walk offers a stunning blend of coastal views, historical sites, and challenging terrain. Starting from the charming village of Caherdaniel, we’ll ascend onto the renowned Kerry Way, enjoying panoramic vistas of Derrynane Bay. As we climb higher, the landscape transforms into a patchwork of green valleys and rugged mountains.
We’ll pass by the intriguing Cáit na Pluaise’s cave before veering off the Kerry Way to explore the copper mines and a nearby holy well. This detour rewards us with a unique glimpse into the region’s history.
From here, we’ll embark on a challenging off-trail ascent to the summit of Mullach Bog (500m), culminating in a breathtaking panoramic view of Lough Currane, Loch na nGrág, and Loch Chomar an Bhánaigh.
Descending through the picturesque Coomnahorna valley, we’ll complete the loop, returning to our starting point with a sense of accomplishment and a lasting memory of this unforgettable adventure.
