We will take the cable car across to Dursey Island. The cable car takes around 15 minutes each way at a cost of €10 return trip. The cable car holds 6 people at a time.
The walk is a moderate walk lasting 3-4.5 hours with an ascent of 300m, on roadways, pathways and
tracks, Dursey island is the western most tip of Co Cork with a special atmospheric mix and dramatic
landscape formed by the ravages of wind and sea. We will be afforded magnificent views of the sea
and back to the coastline of the Beara Peninsula. The cliffs are home to many seabirds to include
puffin, manx shearwater, gannets and guilliemots.
It can be a bit wet underfoot in places so good walking boots are a must. Bring along a lunch, water
and rain wear.
