A fabulous loop trail into the the Derrynane National Park including section of Kerry Way, woodland, minor tarred road and spectacular beach front.

Meet at Dan Murphy’s Bar at 11 AM. We’ll carpool from hear to the start of the walk at Derrynane House. Others can meet us at Derrynane House carpark at 11:30 am.

This walk begins on a quiet narrow tarred lane before branching off onto a woodland section of the Kerry Way. Shortly after we’ll reach the high point of the walk which offers a stunning vista, that’s sure to inspire you. Next comes the coastline and beach sections, which are wild and beautiful at this time of year.

Derrynane was the home of the ‘Liberator’ Daniel O’Connell and the house and gardens are now managed by the Irish National Parks and Wildlife Service.

Don’t forget to bring your phone / camera for great photo opportunities. This walk which can be enjoyed in nearly all weather conditions and will be lead by Dave and Michele Fay.

Meeting point for these walks (unless otherwise noted) is outside Dan Murphy’s Bar in Sneem at 10AM. Please ensure that you are registered on the Sneem Walking Club’s Whatsapp Group for updates. Please note that dogs are not allowed on our walks, as we walk on privately owned land with the kind permission of the owners / farmers.
