Coad Cemetery to Beale A & B Walks

  • 12 KM; A - 3.5 Hrs; B - 4.5+

Terrain

  • B Walkers can expect grassy tracks and tarred lanes with three hills. A walkers can expect open mountainside too with extended periods of ascent.

Requirements

  • Well-soled waterproof walking boots, comfortable outdoor clothes with extra warm layers in a backback with sufficient water, food and/or snacks.

Description

A & B Walks along the Kerry Way from Coad Cemetery in the direction of Sneem offering fantastic views of Coad Mountain and Kenmare Bay. Walk B will continue straight while Walk A will ascend to the Windy Gap at the beginning of the Coad. Staigue Fort is visible from both walks but you have to be alert to spot it from Walk B.

Meet as usual at Dan Murphys 10 AM and we can arrange transport from there.

With all advertised walks please bear in mind that these can change at short notice due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. Meeting point for these walks (unless otherwise noted) is outside Dan Murphy’s Bar in Sneem at 10AM. Please ensure that you are registered on the Sneem Walking Club’s Whatsapp Group for updates. Please note that dogs are not allowed on our walks, as we walk on privately owned land with the kind permission of the owners / farmers.
