A fabulous loop trail into the the Derrynane National Park including section of Kerry Way, woodland, minor tarred road and spectacular beach front.

Photos From The Day

Starting at the first car park in Derrynane, this walk begins on the Kerry Way as it cuts through quiet tarred lanes and woodland in the direction of the Derrynane House and Gardens.

Derrynane was the home of the ‘Liberator’ Daniel O’Connell and the house and gardens are now managed by the Irish National Parks and Wildlife Service. This walk offers great variation and stunning vistas. The woodland section, wild Atlantic coastline and beach sections are inspiring and if you go on this walk, you are in for a treat.

Don’t forget to bring your phone / camera for great photo opportunities. This walk which can be enjoyed in nearly all weather conditions will be lead by Laurence Van Poulle.

With all advertised walks please bear in mind that these can change at short notice due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. Meeting point for these walks (unless otherwise noted) is outside Dan Murphy’s Bar in Sneem at 10AM. Please ensure that you are registered on the Sneem Walking Club’s Whatsapp Group for updates. Please note that dogs are not allowed on our walks, as we walk on privately owned land with the kind permission of the owners / farmers.
