Description

Rewarding moderate and strenuous walks to some of the highest points in Sneem. The views down to the Pocket below and across to Mullaghanattin don’t disappoint.

Photos From The Day

This Sneem climb isn’t for the faint of heart, but the reward is a summit experience unlike few others.

The trail for both A & B walks starts at Coomyanna Bridge, where a rugged track guides your way for a while. Then, it’s time to break free and navigate the open mountainside. Our first conquest is a 639m peak, offering dramatic views of the sheer cliffs guarding the “Pocket” below. This scenic spot is the perfect place to refuel and soak in the stunning panorama.

From here the A & B Walks separate with those on the A walk continuing onwards to Beann’s 752m high peak and an exhillerating 250m long ridge.

With all advertised walks please bear in mind that these can change at short notice due to weather and other unforeseen circumstances. Meeting point for these walks (unless otherwise noted) is outside Dan Murphy’s Bar in Sneem at 10AM. Please ensure that you are registered on the Sneem Walking Club’s Whatsapp Group for updates. Please note that dogs are not allowed on our walks, as we walk on privately owned land with the kind permission of the owners / farmers.
